Released in Japan in November 1985, the Sony TCM-1390 is a rugged portable cassette recorder designed for public speaking, education and announcements. Featuring a 12-watt speaker, two microphone inputs and the ability to mix microphone audio with cassette playback, it was built more for classrooms and presentations than music listening. A fascinating piece of mid-1980s Sony technology with plenty of character.
